An update...Finally!

Taylor Corinne Williams was born on December 3, 2009 at 6:38am after 24 hours and 38 minutes of labor! She weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20 inches long. Our lives were forever changed and it is better than we could have ever imagined!

It is hard to know where to start...Taylor has been such a sweet girl. She started sleeping through the night (about 6-7 hours) at 6 weeks. Even when we brought her home from the hopsital she would only wake up to eat one time per night and go right back to sleep. We only had a few sleepless nights mostly when she was sick with RSV and that was because Mommy was too nervous to sleep not because Taylor was awake! She has never been on a very strict feeding or sleeping schedule. She is beginning to form a pattern now, but she is still unpredictable. We can roughly estimate when she will eat and sleep but she is great at proving us wrong. We have learned to read her cues fairly well...feed her when she stuffs everything in her mouth and put her to bed when she cannot hold her eyes open. It works! Taylor sleeps 9-10 hours per night right now at 4 months. She eats five 6oz bottles each day (with 1.5tsp of rice cereal) with 2 baby food feedings (one in the morning between her 1st and 2nd bottle and one in the evening between her 5th and 6th bottle). She takes 3 naps per day for about 1.5 to 2 hours each. She will usually wake up during her naps about 30 minutes in but Mommy will go put her pacifier (YES! She is taking a pacifier now!) back in her mouth and she goes back to sleep for another hour or hour and a half. We are very proud of her! Taylor learned how to roll over from her back to her tummy on her 4 month birthday (April 3rd). We were very excited! Mommy found her on her belly in her crib yesterday for the first time and she rolled over 2 other times yesterday. She is getting the hang of it. She will not roll from her tummy to her back yet. She gets so frustrated on her tummy that she cannot figure out how to flip back over! We have started feeding her baby food. She has only had peas so far and it is hit or miss. Sometimes she'll eat them and sometimes she won't. Our pediatrician said to introduce one food at a time to watch for allergic reactions. We will try something else tomorrow...maybe sweet potatoes?

We will try to better about updating our blog. We had good intentions from the start. Things have just been a little...different! Hope all is well in your lives. Love to you all!

The Big Day is Tomorrow!

Taylor will be making her arrival very soon now. Dr. Cook will be inducing labor on Wednesday, December 2nd at 5:30am. He expects her to arrive late that night. So, we're in for a long day but for a wonderful gift in the end. We are experiencing an emotional roller coaster during the last couple of days before Taylor's birth. We will keep everyone updated as much as possible during the day tomorrow. We love you all so much and are looking forward to introducing our daughter to you all very soon!

We Are Ready!

We are in our 40th week of pregnancy now. Taylor could arrive at any moment and we are ready! We have our next appointment with the doctor on Wednesday, November 25th. There is a possibility of scheduling an induction for next Saturday, November 28th if there is more dilation and effacement since the last doctor's visit. If not, then we will have to wait another week. Dr. Cook is estimating Taylor to weigh approximately 8lbs by next week so we really hope that she will be born soon and I am sure you understand why = ) We'll update the blog when we get more information. We love yall!

Taylor Corinne Williams

Yes, we have decided on a name. Corinne (in the picture above) is the name of the Mommy-to-Be's sweet Grandmother Becker. We are honored to name our first daughter after such a wonderful lady!

Taylor's due date is exactly 4 weeks away today. At our doctor's visit on Monday the Mommy-to-Be measured 36cm at 36 weeks pregnant, was 1 cm dilated, and 30% effaced! Contractions are already hard at work. So, everything is right on track for a delivery around the original due date of Novemcer 26th. We did not have an ultrasound as we origianlly thought we might. Taylor has dropped down some and so the measurements are more on track. It wont be long before she is here!

Big Update!

We have been going to childbirth classes for 5 weeks now. We have our last class next Tues. We have learned so much about having babies and still there is so much we don't know. The classes are great and our instructor is awesome. We have been practicing the different techniques we learned in class at home. One of them is putting ice on the skin to simulate a contraction. We leave it on for about 1 minute at a time and practice breathing, relaxing, and visualization techniques. Getting pretty good at it too!
We have been super busy getting ready for Taylor's arrival. Her clothes have been washed in dreft and put in her drawers. The changing table is ready with itty bitty newborn diapers, wipes, and of course Boudreaux's Butt Paste! We have her pack-n-play set up for her to sleep by our side in our bedroom and our new glider a few feet away. The Daddy-to-Be has been hard at work setting up her swing, bouncy seat, pack-n-play, installing the car seat and more. Wow! There is so much to do for such a little girl!
We had a doctor's visit on Monday and everything is going smoothly. Blood pressure is great, weight gain is great, Taylor's heartbeat is great (it is starting to slow down...which I learned is perfectly normal as the due date nears!), and all tests have come back with good results. Mommy-to-Be is still measuring on the high end of normal so we may be doing another ultrasound at our next visit (Oct. 26th...36 weeks) to see just how big Baby Taylor actually is. We'll let you know how that goes.
We have had 2 more baby showers. We were, again, overwhelmed by all of the kindness and generosity from everyone around us. Taylor is so loved by so many people. We cannot wait to introduce you all to her!
Thanks for checking for our blog updates! Taylor will be here in 6 short weeks and we could not be more excited! We send our love to you all!

3D Ultrasound

Since we found out were pregnant we have found ourselves saying "this is amazing". Then, the next big event occurs along the way and amazing just does not seem to be a big enough word. Today was one of those events. We had a very successful 3D ultrasound! She does not have a middle name yet, but Taylor was very cooperative this time. We got to see her beautiful face and we got so many precious pictures. We got a DVD too and we cannot stop watching it! We have attached a few of the pictures for you to see. We're still trying to figure out who she looks like.
We got the furniture set up in her room. It looks great and the bedding is adorable on her crib! We'll take pictures and post them after we have the room completely decorated. We're having so much fun preparing for Taylor's arrival! She's going to be here so soon!
